Burger Box Manufacturing at Ruihesheng
JIANGYIN RUIHESHENG PAPER PRODUCTS CO., LTD. has produced food-grade paper packaging in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province since 2004. Our BURGER BOX programme runs on the same lines as our clamshell, tray and bowl ranges: a 15,000 m² production base, more than 100 automated machines, and annual output measured in billions of pieces. We supply quick-service chains, delivery kitchens, food trucks, caterers and packaging distributors with flip-top clamshell, dome-top, wedge and extra-long burger boxes in kraft, white paperboard and corrugated board.
Each box is configured around the item it carries — patty count, bun diameter, sauce load, hold time and how the box sits in the carrier bag. As a BURGER BOX manufacturer, we work from that working point outward: board grade, closure, venting and print coverage follow the food, not the other way round.
Our Burger Box Range
The range is organised by structure rather than by size alone, so a menu change usually moves a customer between existing dies instead of triggering new tooling. Model numbers below are the formats we run most often; the full programme sits inside our clamshell food paper box family.
| Format family | Representative models | Structure | Typical menu fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard flip-top clamshell | HB#100, HB#175, HB#200, HB#90 | One-piece die-cut board with tuck or interlocking front closure | Single and double burgers, chicken sandwiches |
| Dome-top flip-top | HB#204.5, HB#205, HB#208 | Raised lid with extra internal height | Tall builds, stacked patties, hot dogs |
| Extra-long and jumbo | HB#192, HB#290 | Extended footprint with long front flap | Jumbo burgers, footlong sandwiches, hot dogs |
| Wedge and sandwich | HB#132, HB#210 | Angled wedge profile, easy-open front | Cut sandwiches, wraps, paninis |
| Windowed | HB#140H51 | Die-cut aperture with clear film | Counter display, premium burgers |
| Secure-closure | HB#140H89, HB#180, HB#162H70 | Reinforced lock tabs, easy open and close | Delivery and drive-through service |
| Corrugated and heavy duty | HB#110, HB#200, HB#89, HB#178 | Corrugated board with higher stacking strength | Family meals, catering, bulk delivery |
| Kraft and white paperboard | HB#160, HB#91, HB#111, HB#104, HB#113 | Food-grade paperboard, natural or bleached | Branded and unbranded takeaway |
| Oil-proof and breathable | HB#102, HB#162 | Grease-resistant or vented board | Fried items, hot and humid loads |
| Black and premium print | HB#117, HB#164, HB#170 | Dark or high-coverage printed board | Premium and dark-kitchen brands |
Where Each Format Fits
- Counter and takeaway service — standard flip-top clamshells in kraft or white paperboard, sized to the bun so the lid closes without crushing the crown.
- Delivery and courier handling — secure-closure and reinforced-lock formats that resist being stacked sideways in an insulated bag.
- Drive-through — single-hand opening with a front flap that stays clear of the windscreen and does not spring back.
- Food trucks and street food — compact footprints and corrugated grades that tolerate repeated handling on a small counter.
- Catering and group orders — corrugated and jumbo formats with the stacking strength to travel in trays.
- Crossover items — dome-top and extra-long dies carry hot dogs, chicken burgers and footlong sandwiches; cut sandwiches move to our paper sandwich box range.
Materials and Barrier Options
We build burger boxes from FSC-certified paper and post-consumer recycled pulp. On our compostable constructions there is no PE or PLA plastic coating; an algae-based barrier takes its place where grease and moisture resistance is required, and the finished items are supported by TÜV industrial composting certification together with biodegradable labels and adhesives.
- Kraft paperboard — natural appearance, good for short-hold takeaway and low-ink branding.
- White food-grade paperboard — cleaner print reproduction for full-colour artwork.
- Corrugated board — added rigidity for heavy or stacked loads.
- Grease-resistant grades — for fried fillings and sauce-heavy builds.
- Vented constructions — release steam so buns do not soften during delivery.
- Inks — plant-based and water-based options across flexographic and UV printing.
Critical Specifications We Confirm Before Tooling
These are the variables that decide whether a burger box performs on the line and in the bag. We confirm each one against a physical sample of the filled product wherever the customer can supply one.
- Internal footprint and lid clearance — measured against the assembled burger, not the patty alone.
- Board grade and calliper — balanced against closure memory and stacking load.
- Closure type — tuck, interlocking tab or reinforced lock, matched to how the box is opened.
- Venting and windowing — aperture position affects both steam release and print layout.
- Grease and moisture resistance — selected from the filling, sauce and expected hold time.
- Print coverage and registration — high-coverage dark artwork changes board choice and drying time.
- Flat-pack and erected dimensions — for storage density and manual or automated assembly.
Printing, Branding and Surface Finishing
Flexographic and UV printing lines cover single-sided or double-sided work, spot colour and four-colour process. Surface options include hot stamping, partial UV, embossing and laminating, so a burger box can carry a full brand identity without losing food-contact safety.
Under our OEM/ODM service we provide free structural design and rendering, then move to sampling before mass production. A typical branded programme starts from the HB#100 flip-top takeaway clamshell burger box and adapts the die, board and print to the customer's menu.
Production Flow and Quality Control
Burger boxes follow the same ten-stage route as the rest of our paper packaging, with inspection points at both ends of the line.
- Raw material procurement — pulp, laminating materials and ink.
- Incoming raw material inspection against production standards.
- Paper cutting to the required sheet size.
- Die-cutting and forming of the basic structure.
- Flexographic or UV printing of patterns and text.
- Die cutting and moulding into the product shape.
- Gluing, folding and assembly.
- Finished-goods inspection of dimensions, strength and print quality.
- Packaging of qualified product.
- Warehousing, order allocation and logistics.
Our quality system is certified to ISO9001, ISO22000, FSC, BRC and SGS, with additional accreditations including SABER, SYDEX, IAF and CNAS. Production process design and procedural controls keep batch-to-batch output traceable, which matters when a chain rolls the same box out across several markets.
Information We Use to Configure Your Solution
A workable quotation needs the filled-product reality, not just a length and width. The matrix below shows what we ask for and how each answer changes the proposal.
| Parameter | What we need | How it shapes the configuration |
|---|---|---|
| Menu item and build height | Patty count, toppings, bun type, a filled sample or photo with dimensions | Selects flat, dome-top or extra-height die |
| Footprint | Bun diameter and required lid clearance | Fixes the die and the flat-pack size |
| Board and barrier | Kraft, white paperboard or corrugated; grease and steam behaviour | Determines grade, coating route and stacking strength |
| Closure and opening | One-hand opening, reclose need, courier handling | Chooses tuck, interlocking or reinforced lock |
| Artwork and print | Vector artwork, colour references, coverage, finishing requests | Sets ink type, print method and surface treatment |
| Volume and call-off | Annual quantity, first order, release pattern | Drives die allocation, run planning and packing format |
| Packing and destination | Carton count, pallet pattern, labelling, port or delivery point | Confirms shipping scope and documentation set |
Documentation, Packing and Delivery Scope
Orders are released with the dieline drawing, approved artwork proof and a signed pre-production sample, so the reference for acceptance is fixed before the run starts. Finished boxes are counted, bundled and packed to the agreed carton configuration, then labelled for warehouse allocation and shipment.
Our products are exported to the USA, France, Sweden, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and other markets, and we handle OEM/ODM programmes from initial structural design through to repeat production. Customers receive the packing specification, carton markings and batch traceability records that accompany each shipment.
Frequently Asked Questions
What burger box formats can Ruihesheng produce?
We run standard flip-top clamshells, dome-top and extra-height lids, extra-long and jumbo footprints, wedge sandwich profiles, windowed lids, secure-closure delivery boxes and corrugated heavy-duty grades. Kraft, white paperboard and corrugated board are all available across the range.
Can you supply compostable burger boxes without a plastic coating?
Yes. Our compostable constructions use FSC-certified paper and post-consumer recycled pulp with no PE or PLA layer, relying on algae-based barrier technology for grease and moisture resistance. These items are supported by TÜV industrial composting certification, with biodegradable labels and adhesives.
Do you print our brand on the box?
We print single-sided or double-sided in spot colour or four-colour process on flexographic and UV lines, using plant-based or water-based inks. Hot stamping, partial UV, embossing and laminating are available for premium finishes, and our OEM/ODM service includes free structural design, rendering and sampling.
What do you need from us to prepare a quotation?
Send the filled menu item with its dimensions or a physical sample, the bun diameter, the board and barrier preference, closure expectations, artwork files, annual and first-order volumes, and the packing and delivery destination. With those inputs we can select a die, confirm the board grade and return a configured proposal.
How is quality controlled across batches?
Incoming paper and ink are inspected before release to production, and finished boxes are checked for dimensions, strength and print quality before packing. Our system is certified to ISO9001, ISO22000, FSC, BRC and SGS, with additional accreditations including SABER, SYDEX, IAF and CNAS, and procedural controls keep output traceable from batch to batch.
Can you match a burger box we already use?
Send a physical sample or a flat die-cut and we will match the footprint, board grade and closure behaviour, then quote from an existing die where the geometry allows. Where a closer fit is needed, we adapt the structure and produce a pre-production sample for approval before mass production.
